Let’s Get Going Again!

You'llbeinmyheart has been nominated to the Fantasia Stakes at Louisiana Downs to be run on Sunday, July 7. It is a $40,000 purse for Louisiana-bred 3-year-old fillies at a distance of six furlongs (3/4 of a mile). Entries will be taken Friday, July 5. This would be a race similar to the Battler Star Handicap she won at the Fair Grounds in March.

YoullbeinmyheartShe has gotten back in the swing of things after her brief vacation when she returned from the adventure in Kentucky. You'llbeinmyheart has put on weight as her body has continued to mature. She isn't a big horse, more average size, but is well balanced and has the muscle tone of a finely trained athlete. Her last serious work before shipping to Louisiana Downs on Wednesday was a display of force and speed. On the tight turns of the Folsom training center she put in a clocking of :35 for three-eighths of a mile, on the way to a :47.3 time for a half-mile. She was working behind another horse for the first part of the workout but blew by her workmate early and with ease. You'llbeinmyheart was never asked for speed but worked willingly. She cooled out well and without incident. She seems to be approaching the race in fine form.

Her stablemate, Coach Rags, has been entered in the Independence Breeders' Cup Handicap on Thursday, July 4. He has been training very well since his short vacation after a win at Lone Star Park in Dallas in April. He will meet a similar group as the Dallas race in the 1 mile and 1/16 turf race this Fourth of July holiday at Louisiana Downs.

On a less positive note, You'llbeinmyheart's little sister has been returned to Clear Creek Stud Farm due to a persistent soreness in her hindquarters. She was evaluated by several local vets and sent to the LSU vet school. After x-ray and assorted scans, the consensus was she has a pulled muscle in the area of her pelvis. She will get some time back on green grass and we will pick her up for training in 60-90 days.

We will post another report after entries on Friday.
