Krantz Stable ~ Updates, Stories, Photos and Adventures

Louisiana Champions DaySeveral springs ago we constructed this website to share our experience of racing a very nice filly named You'llbeinmyheart. She had won her first four races (a rare feat in horse racing) and was headed to Kentucky for a race on Kentucky Derby weekend. The experience was not a great racing success but proved to be an education for us, as well as our family and friends.

With this experience behind us we came to realize this website was a great way to communicate to our family and friends in far-flung places what was going on in the lives of the Krantz family and the Krantz Stable. The Fair Grounds winter race meeting in New Orleans is the race meeting we set our stable training schedule for but we will occasionally send horses to run at other tracks in and out of Louisiana.

You'llbeinmyheart was named Champion Louisiana Bred Three Year Old Filly in 2002. Her half sister, Destiny Calls was selected Champion older Louisiana-bred mare for 2004. In December of 2006 our nice filly Blueyed Lass won the Louisiana Champion's Day Distaff becoming our second Louisiana Champion's Day winner after Coach Rags victory in the Louisiana Champion's Day Turf in 1999. We hope the quality of our small stable remains high and we have fun things to report as this season progresses.

Horse racing is not our only focus. Relationships are important parts of our lives and so part of what we will offer here is a glimpse into who we are and who some of you are. Racing has lots of color and character and most of it is fun to talk about. We do get to attend some of the great events in racing and from time to time we will post stories and pictures of our travels and adventures.
